MIckey Land
Here are some pics from my trip to FL at the beginning of this month. I know a late, but better late then never huh? ?
Since no one that I went with really wanted to take pictures with me (jessie, gil and mom)
most of them are of me or scenery or my sweet niece, she's too young to object.
So this is front of an awesome restaurant, that was kinda like Rainforest Cafe, but not cause it had awesome dinosaurs that would more, i'll post a video later.

Mom and I in front of epcot (side note, do you know what it stands for?? Everybody Comes Out Tired, and the reason the ball is wrinkled like a golf ball is because that way when it rain doesn't fall on top of people's heads when it rains....granted these tidbits are what the bus driver told me so could be could be totally made up :o)

goodness
So I love my new house.
It is home and comfty, esp with my new furniture.
I came home for lunch the other day and was walking to the house and the birds were chirping and I thought see even the birds are happy here :o)
I can't wait to revamp my vintage beach cruiser Schwinn bike which is cherry red and ride that beauty around my cute neighborhood.
I'll post some cute pics soon, once I get all my boxes away.
I love feeling like I am at home.
This week in CO it has been no less then 60 degrees everyday, I also love living in CO!
I kinda feel like its springs.

Moving
I have moved at least one a year for the last almost ten years of my life. It all started when I moved out of my parents house after college and then I guess it became addicting.
When I moved out to CO, I literally filled up my car and headed west. It was the most frightening and best decision of my life. I never thought I would be that girl who moved after college and never came back. In fact at the time I thought it would only be for a year, because I loved my little home town life. I love Grand Rapids, and there are still many things that I miss about Michigan.
However Colorado has become my home and I like that. After that one year graduate training program, there was something that I couldn't leave. So I told God you provide a job and a place for me to stay and I will. He did both:)
So this Saturday I am moving once again. My roomie and I found this adorable house, that is a home. It will be a home. For the last year we have been living in an apartment that is tiny and has prevented either of us from having people over. The problem with that is we both have hospitable hearts. Rachel loves to cook and I just love to have people over and listen to them.
So today I become even more of an adult I bought real furniture. Not from craiglist, or the thrift store. Nope, from a real furniture store, and the furniture is great. It is sooo comfty. I love it!
I bought a couch, loveseat, chair and ottoman and an area rug and they will make my home a warm place to be. I can't wait to have people over and just love on them and create an inviting atmosphere for them just to be.
I feel responsible or more grown up today, cause I have real furniture that belongs to me. I almost want to write my name on the bottom of it like my mom used to do in my back pack when i was a little girl,
"if lost return to katie polavin"
I don't think I will lose this furniture. I guess I am just growing up, well kinda..... :)

27 fun things about me.
Since everyone and there brother is doing these random list on fb, I thought I would share mine here too.
1. I like cheese, in fact I have some form of cheese everyday.
2. I have gotten my nose pierced three times, in the same spot and have only taken it out because places I work wouldn’t let me. I love having my nose pierced and could be one of those fun moms with her nose still pierced.
3.I sleep with a body pillow on each side of me, so I feel tucked in and safe. I also sleep in the middle of my queen size bed.
4.I used to hate the smell/taste of coffee, now I drink it everyday and have become a coffee snob since living with a roomie who always got me free Starbucks coffee. Now that’s the only kind I like to drink.
5.When I was in college I felt called to move to the ghetto and work with inner city kiddos and be a part of their community and it was the best experience and learning time of my life. Even though my parents did not like the idea of me living next to an abandoned house, I loved it and it was a good turning point for me!
7.I love any excuse to get dressed up in costumes and be silly.
8.I sometimes think there should be cameras following me around in my job, because it is so interesting and its like CSI.
9.I secretly love MTV reality shows, minus the stupid ones.
10.I am the only one in my immediate family who is not married with kids and not living within a 20 minute radius from my parents house, I am living on the edge :o)
11.I love living in CO where I can see mountains from wherever I am. Love to hike and mtn bike in them. Just wish my family lived out here. When I go home to MI I feel suffocated because I can’t see the mtns and the land is flat.
12.I love polka dots. I have shoes, scarves, sweaters, shirts, and skirts with them. In fact if I see something in a store with polka dots I am always tempted to buy it.
13.I have an obsession with ducks. I own A LOT. Most of them people have bought for me. It all started in college when I had a yellow raincoat and tend to waddle when I walk and people said I looked like a duck :o)
14.I love plants, and talk to mine that I own. I encourage them that they are pretty and should keep growing.
15.I love people. Being around them, watching, listening, and helping people. Probably why I get so fired up about social justice.
16.I think I have the soul of an African American and was born in a white girl body, I think that’s why God gave me such curly hair. One time I had a girl I worked with ask me, “Is your daddy black?” I sighed and said no I wish.
17.I have been journaling since I was in elementary school and have filled more then 20 journals.
18.I love being outside, doing anything.
19.I love going to art museums, ballets, and symphonies.
20.My dream job would be to live in Africa and hold babies that have AIDS all day long.
21.I feel honored to have a job that I am so passionate about. Social work is a part of my being, in which I get to help people and be their advocate.
22.I love surprises.
23.I can’t wait to be a wife and a mom.
24.I have never done any kind of drug, there was a time when I tried to be cool and smoke cigarettes and would just pretend to breathe in but not inhale. I once told a friend after we had been “smoking” for awhile that I didn’t inhale and thought I was confessing and she said, “I know, Katie.”
25. When I travel I secretly hope a stranger will come up to me and tell me I am pretty or something cliche like that.
26. I sometimes blurt things out when I shouldn't and then think did I just really say that out loud. Should've kept that one to me and my brain.
27. I love to dance and have become mildly obsessed with zumba classes cause I get to shake my groove thing and feel sexy at least three times a week;)
