kites

This weekend was glorious.

Friday night met with k group leaders to talk about life, loving Jesus, and how we can be better leaders to those in our small groups and eat home made pizza and drink a glass of white merlot. :o)

Saturday early got up to go to the REI garage sale, which is a members only sale. So here is how it works if you ever buy anything at REI (which mind you if you live in CO you should be a member here because it is the best outdoor store and if you live in CO you are always outdoors) it is the best idea to join. You pay $20 once and you are a member for life, you get a dividend check back at the end of each year of what you spent there each year. So every quarter REI puts on a garage sale of which the items are everything that has been returned. Some for simple reasons such as I did not like the color so there is nothing wrong with the returned item.

So people used to spend the night to be the first in line for the garage sale, however REI did not like that so much so now they have three lines and the lines get picked at random of which one goes first. My group and I all were there early so we were the first ones in line.

So we brought bagels and coffee and waited two hours in line on a cold morning to get severly discounted outdoor items.

I got:
- pair of snow shoes
- North Face Fleece
- Helly Hansen Fleece
- Outdoor Research Down Jacket
- Merell hiking boots
- pair of Super Feet insoles

All for a very good price!

Then I got to fly a kite two times this weekend. Random but fun! It was great to feel like a kid and not worry about what other people were thinking just to fly a kite. I even sang the Mary Poppins song :o)

Easter

My small group got together for Easter. It was so much fun! The day consisted of a delicious meal. Then we did egg painting, some of us for the first time. Next, was the easter egg hunt which was so much fun. Even though we are all in our twenties, we had a blast and felt like little kids. Finally was an Easter game of Quelf. Thanks so much to everyone for coming and participaing. It was a blast. Pictures from the eventful day are below. Enjoy!

a rare moment

Today I was driving back to work from lunch sitting at a stop light and just feeling kinda icky and blah and out of it.
I looked over to the right of me and there was this precious African American woman who was quite elderly (I don't say that in a bad reference more for the fact that she was that more precious) and was singing and just praising the Lord.
It was so precious and she was driving her husband around, she was clapping, singing, hitting the steering wheel, and raising her hands.
It made me smile, and also reminded me that we can meet the Lord in whatever and wherever we are throughout the day.
That woman blessed me today.
Thanks.

Interesting??

Read this. That is interesting to me.

Guess it is time to find me a husband :o)

Hello all. I just thought I would drop a line and say Happy St. Patty's day. Everyone at my work seems to have forgotten that it is St Patty's Day today. I am the only one wearing green.

Well regardless wear that green and enjoy a fun day of the luck 'o the Irish.

Fire Fighter Awards Banquet

Tonight I am going to get dolled up...put my make up on, do my hair up, slip into my new black polka dotted dress, and finally put on those new heels. Why you ask?

Tonight I am being presented with an award at the Colorado Springs Fire Fighter Awards Banquet. For donating my car last year to a woman who was a parapalegic. I dated a fire fighter last year and that is how I got hooked up with woman and she got have the good ole Bonne. She is in good hands. This woman was in a car accident and totaled her car and the fire fighters who were on the call tried to comfort her but she was unconsoleable, because the car was her independence. It was her life. So she got mine. She was the sweetest woman. I hope she is there tonight.

I hope she liked it as much as I loved my Bonne. So now I get to see the old fire fighting crowd tonight...should be interesting :o)
