Oh yeah I'm engaged! :)

So I have been bad about blogging as of late,
mental block or something.
Or just being plain busy with working full time, grad school, doing an internship and now planning a wedding!

So I got engaged!!!!!
On December 17th, 2010.
Best night of my life, so far!

Jen, I and carey on the night we got engaged
James and I retelling the story to all of our friends, of how exactly we got engaged.

James, Carey, and I

Real smiles of joy!

James true smile, not his fake cheesy one

James and I walking into where all our friends where,
a surprise to me,
but planned out on James and Melissa's part
So we pull up outside there house
and all of our friends were inside waiting.
It was so much fun to be able to celebrate with them
right after we got engaged.

Reenactment #2

First pic of the ring!

First pic of us right after we got engaged!

Cheney and I

This was the self portrait we did, when I am still in shocked that we are engaged!

The ring!

The story of our engagement was perfect.
The words james spoke to me that night, are words I will never forget.
He made me cry and touched my soul in a way no one ever has or will.
He is the love of my life and I feel blessed beyond
belief that I get to spend the rest
of my life with him.

He is the man God made for me!
That night will be one that the details will never escape my mind.
Unforgettable!

Valentines Day!

This was the set up for my Valentine's Day
James made me dinner.
Got me an orchid.
and bought me a journal!

The boy did good.
My orchid, with the wonderful wine :)
This meal, you should be jealous of!
It tasted like heaven in my mouth.
Steak Diane in a delicious mushroom sauce
Potatoes Croquet
and perfectly cooked asparagus.

Topped off with homemade Creme Brulee
and james taught me how to cook the top
with my own torch gun!

All in all it was a wonderful Valentines night.
I feel so blessed to have the man I do
beside me.

Really for the rest of my life (God willing)
That's a thought that brings a smile to my face.
I got a good one folks :)

NIght for the books

James and I had the best night last night.

Went to the broadmoor and snuck around. Here is a condensed list of all the innocent naughty things we could've got caught for but didn't.

1. Snuck up to the penthouses

2. threw newspaper down a old fashioned trash chute

3. got into the service elevator and explored a part of the broadmoor that we were for sure not supposed to be in and somehow found out way back

4. hiked up a hill, to find a slide, crawled up the water slide to a landing, walked around the locked part of the broadmoor, then having to get out had to once again climb a big fence (with James help of course)

5. snuck around the property that was not where guests were to be and waltzed out in the open air like nothing ever happened, when inside we were both freaking out.

6. Ate dessert in a super swanky restaurant where I felt like for the first 20 minutes we should get up and leave cause we clearly had no business being there.

7. Had the best dessert I have ever eaten and admired all the couples who were on the dance floor really showing off their stuff.

8. James and I dancing our impressive box step, almost running into other couples and thoroughly enjoying being in the middle as the live band made us feel light on our toes. I will never forget being in the middle of the dance floor in his arms and thinking I hit the jackpot!

9. Falling even more in love with my honey and someone that I get to have spontaneous adventures with, for the rest of my life.

Night for the books.

Finding Contentment

Last night I went on a late night walk after my long day
and thoroughly enjoyed the fall quietness.

The only sound was the crunching of the leaves under my feet
and the smell of sweetness in the air
from the impending precipitation that was on the horizon
coming over the mountains as I was walking.

It was the perfect fall night.
Warm, yet a great mixture of coolness.

This pic was from my walk.

There have been lots of things stirring in my soul.
This post from one of my favorite blogs was exactly what I was feeling today.

Be who thine was created to be.
Feel beautiful and know it.
Be confident and work it.
Be present in the moment.

today!

Feeling good inside

Life these days

Seems busy.

It seems as though weeks zoom by (similar to my zoom zoom mazda car!)
and before I realize it, its already the weekend.

This is great, except for the reason that my weeks zoom by is that my days are long.
I get done working at 7pm everyday except for wednesdays.
On weds I am at my internship, which is a post for another day.

I look up and I am like holy crap is it the middle of October!
when did that happen?
I drive to and from work and try and be present in those still moments.
I try and just always be present. Like today I noticed the leaves falling off
the trees from the wind and rustling around the streets.
I love fall. It truly is my favorite season.
I get to wear hats and not be a million degrees. and layers hmmmm :)

Life is still continuing around me.
People are busy.
The world is chugging along like it always did, so what's the point?

I sometimes feel like when I get done with work
the only energy I have left to do at the end of the day
is try and figure out dinner and maybe facebook and watch a tv show.

healthy right? But I kinda feel like I need to check out from most obligations
in my life right now so I can maintain sanity.

I feel bad because I don't want people to think it is
on purpose or that I am mean, and the other side to this
coin, is I hate to be out of the loop.

But I have also realized that this year there
are a lot of things that I have to accept and
just move on.

People have made comments that I feel like
I haven't seen you in forever, which they haven't.
And that is life right now. It is kind of a bear, but
I am picking my chin up and moving forward.

My theme of life will continue....choose joy!

Choose joy when my alarm is going off and I am
attempting to peel myself out of my bed... thank God
that I can hear the birds chirping.

Make myself coffee as I drive to work and thank God
that I have a job to drive to, a job that I love!

Get to work and get bombarded with all the people
that need something and thank God that I have been
blessed with the abilities to help these people.
What they say does not scare me. It makes me
dig my feet into the sand and say I will stick
out this storm with you.

This season has stripped away a lot of the fluff of
my life. It is down to the bare essentials.

What I have also found out?
I am a lot stronger then I previously knew.

Things I cannot life without...
God.
James. and his love :)
sweet moments.
good food.
good music.
and sleep.
