Look at what I made....

So I have all of these friends whom are super creative,
and make cute things all the time.
Well I thought I would go ahead and try my hand at making something.
Here is the result!
The black and white wall decals were a wedding gift from my brother and sister in law.
They are intended to be put on a wall, but then what happens if you ever move?
So I decided to instead make something that we could take with us wherever we live!

Board from Home Depot
The board with one coat of paint we had from painting rooms
(I put another on, but this is a picture with only the first coat)
Bought grass decals from an amazon trade in, so I didn't have to pay any extra for them.
Those delicate blades of grass were a pill to get off of that contact paper.
Black letters on.
White letters on!
The saying says
"may this home be filled with love and laughter"

Board is done and on the wall!
White saying is a little crooked, but I like things with a little character,
don't you?

So there you have it!
A vision and little creativity and done!

My 29th Birthday!

My 29th Birthday was great!
My husband really made me feel special :)
I will walk you through it with a series of pictures.

Woke up to find this on the mirror in the morning.

Lunch at La Baguette.
Since they were out of crossiants for like the 3rd time,
our waiter offered us free dessert.
Yum!
White cake, lemon filling and raspberry frosting,
so good!

Took myself for a little birthday shopping,
Good finds at Baracudda Bazaar!
This girl loves her some red accessories.
After shopping was a little journal time at Agia Sophia
My new rainbows arrived in the mail today,
so I had to break em in!
Got a text from rene, our wedding photographer
wanting to schedule our reveal
so we could see our wedding photos!
CANNOT wait to see those
At night, James took me to the coolest event
where we went to the zoo
at night and dozens of restaurants where there displaying their food
and drinks and we got to see the animals at night!
It was soooo much fun!
What a great way to spend my birthday.

James with the giraffes.
Me and the giraffes
Their tongues are so long and gross!

My honey did good!
Got me this beautiful ring, which I adore
AND
this beautiful necklace.

Making Wedding Invitations

It was an awesome night!
My girls and I made my wedding invitations.

I seriously have the best friends ever.
It was a night full of lots of laughs, wine, snacks and good stories ;)

The girls!
Could not have done these without their help
 Miss Carey!
 Melissa and Sarah having fun!
(sarah is beyond 40 weeks pregnant and was very sassy and slap happy and hilarious that night)
Jen did all the addressing of the envelopes with her neat handwriting

Melissa, Sarah, and Cathy (and Hudson) making it happen.
The LADY who made this all happen,
miss cheney!

All the credit goes to her.
Her creative abilities are what thought up the ideas for these invitations.

All in all it was a wonderful night!

Time spent with my girls.
Sharing in something special.
The night was really one I will never forget.
I truly am blessed beyond a shadow of a doubt to be walking through this time in my life
with the community of women surrounding me.

Thanks again ladies!
You truly are the best :)

Oh yeah I'm engaged! :)

So I have been bad about blogging as of late,
mental block or something.
Or just being plain busy with working full time, grad school, doing an internship and now planning a wedding!

So I got engaged!!!!!
On December 17th, 2010.
Best night of my life, so far!

Jen, I and carey on the night we got engaged
James and I retelling the story to all of our friends, of how exactly we got engaged.

James, Carey, and I

Real smiles of joy!

James true smile, not his fake cheesy one

James and I walking into where all our friends where,
a surprise to me,
but planned out on James and Melissa's part
So we pull up outside there house
and all of our friends were inside waiting.
It was so much fun to be able to celebrate with them
right after we got engaged.

Reenactment #1

Reenactment #2

First pic of the ring!

First pic of us right after we got engaged!

Cheney and I

This was the self portrait we did, when I am still in shocked that we are engaged!

The ring!

The story of our engagement was perfect.
The words james spoke to me that night, are words I will never forget.
He made me cry and touched my soul in a way no one ever has or will.
He is the love of my life and I feel blessed beyond
belief that I get to spend the rest
of my life with him.

He is the man God made for me!
That night will be one that the details will never escape my mind.
Unforgettable!

Valentines Day!

This was the set up for my Valentine's Day
James made me dinner.
Got me an orchid.
and bought me a journal!

The boy did good.
My orchid, with the wonderful wine :)
This meal, you should be jealous of!
It tasted like heaven in my mouth.
Steak Diane in a delicious mushroom sauce
Potatoes Croquet
and perfectly cooked asparagus.

Topped off with homemade Creme Brulee
and james taught me how to cook the top
with my own torch gun!

All in all it was a wonderful Valentines night.
I feel so blessed to have the man I do
beside me.

Really for the rest of my life (God willing)
That's a thought that brings a smile to my face.
I got a good one folks :)
