Pigs.

I see random things when I drive, but this by far takes the cake.

Someone, I am guessing a hunter, killed this pig, then laid their bow against the pig, propped its head up with a stump, then put their own hat on top of the pig, and took a picture

but that's not the worst part....

they then decided it would be a really GREAT idea to get this picture blown up of, "my pig I just done killed and slap it on the back of my truck,"

WHY??????

I swear, how do people like this and me end up driving on the same road?

Either way it made me chuckle.

Things I am excited about today:

1. It is Friday

2. I get to go see Shane and Shane tonight here, I hope Shane doesn't mind that he will have to divorce Bethany so we can get married. I understand they just got married, but we will already be in a castle tonight it will be perfect :o)

3. Tomorrow I get on a jet plane to go hold/meet my new neice for the first time!!!

4. I get to hang out with friends and family I don't get to see that often

5. I have curly hair, now I know I have curly hair everyday but I really do appreciate my hair that I don't have to do a whole lot to and it looks cute. seriously this sista gets lazy sometimes.

6. I am drinking the sweet nectar of the gods.....Diet Pepsi......hmmmmm!

7. I can pay my bills

8. I drive a cute car, I seriously thought that as I was walking out to my car today, she is pretty cute just like me.

9. God is working in my soul and I am in a season of transition and its hard but what change isn't?

10. That right now as I look out my window I can see mountains.

She came on 08.08.08, weighed 8 lbs.

Could she be any more perfect.

I can't wait to go home in a few weeks and get that little bundle of joy in my arms, I hope my sister doesn't mind that she won't get her out of my arms the whole time I am there :o)

Random.

So I haven't blogged in awhile, mostly because my life is crazy. But tonight I have a couple spare moments and I thought I would share just a random assortment of ideas with you.

So here I go>>>

1. These are the cute shoes I got with the money my mom sent me for my birthday!!
cute huh? thanks mom!

2. This is a sign I have on my desk above my bible reminding me to be a little girl and giggle

3. With being true to the "green" state as they like to call it, it was about time I stopped being wasteful and bought these nifty bags to take to the grocery store instead of using the plastic ones that don't decompose and are as bad as plastic water bottles. After all I do live in Colorado :o) So today I used these bags to put my groceries in>>>

4. After putting away my groceries in my fridge I found a pickle ice cube, bet you've never found one of those or even seen one, well here you go!!

5. These pickles were completely frozen, but I will still eat them :o)

Also tonight my sis is getting ready to have her baby. She will get induced tomorrow. I got a sweet text from her today wishing I was there with her and that I was comforting and calming. Man it was so sweet to hear those words, but hurt so much at the same time.

This is why it is hard living away from family. It breaks my heart not to be able to be there with her in the hospital, holding her hand telling her she can do it and holding my new baby niece. I even looked up plane tickets today just to see if I could surprise them but they were going to be like $1000 and let me tell you this sista doesn't have that kind of cash.

I wish my family would move out here, I mean come on folks Michigan where you have five months of winter and no sun.....or Colorado where we have more sunny days than any other state? your choice :o)

Tonight I am loving Colorado but missing my family in Michigan desperately. Why can't they just merge together. :o(

So I normally share an office with Nicole, however she is sick today.

It also FYI has been a crazy busy day with tons of kids, families, and people all over the place.

So right now as I am sitting at my desk for maybe the only quiet moment I will get all day, guess what song came on the radio....

So what could I do, well I quietly shut the door to my office, stood up and sang like I was Whitney singing on stage to a million people.

I was quite impressive if I do say so myself, I am a pretty good lip syncer :O)

Also I prayed for rain today, at lunch, when I was blessing the taco bell food that rachel and I were eating and I get back to my office and it is raining.

Some Events

Ok so even though I haven't been posting lately does not mean my life has stopped, I mean come on we all know how popular I am :o)

So that's a few pics to show off recent events in my life. Have you all been having a good summer?

I got

A new journal last night. I can't wait to see what I will fill it up with. It even has a pocket in the back for random things.

I know I have not been blogging much lately, but mostly that is because I am so stinking busy with my new job. Also because the things that run through my head or the stories I want to share for one I can't because of confidentiality and two because they are not exactly positive uplifting stories.

It is like saying, Hi my name is Katie and I work for the IRS, however my stories are more like I am being Debbie Downer at the party. Kinda a party foul to share why a 4 year old has been sexually abused.

So I have so many thoughts running through my head, mostly how messed up people are in this world. I think I got calloused when I was working in the law enforcement field, but I have kinda been out of the world of being in direct chaos with people and helping them walk through trauma. Well now I am head in full of helping people deal with the most shocking/terrifying news but I really do love it. I love hanging with kiddos and families and making them smile even if it is only for a brief moment.

I also love working with women who share my passion of helping people who are in the midst of trauma. That's all for now it has been a long day with really tough/hard/devastating/discusting cases and I am going to go have a drink tonight and have dinner with my good friend Cathy.

Have to find normalcy in the midst of chaos.
